My 'Hooverette' pattern from MrsDePew on Etsy is all taped together. Now onto making a muslin for fit. My kitty Lillian is helping with things! Her brother and sister were helping during the taping process, lots of fun sticking tape to their paws! :)

Fabric... oh the possibilities!

I combed my stash last night looking for a piece that would be suitable to use in my 1930s dress. No plaids but did find a 'vintage' piece of lightweight linen I've had for eons! I think it might work, the colors and the directional print are perfect - the print is small though..... didn't want to have to purchase new fabric as I have so much in the stash, however - I will go take a look at what the local store has...just to make sure! :)

Let the challenge begin!

I have always adored clothing of the 1930s and 1940s! In fact, when I was in my twenties I dressed almost exclusively in vintage fashion - before vintage was cool!

I recently found out about a cool vintage sewing challenge via an Instagram post by S and S Patterns hosted by the fabulous Tanya of the fun Mrs. Hughes blog

The challenge is to sew a garment in a vintage style, something like your grandma or great grandma (or aunt etc) would have worn in their era. SEW FUN!

This is the dress style I'm going to make and the pattern which I purchased from Mrs DePew on Etsy. I even have the perfect fabric in my stash! Now to begin.
